Approximately 10 months ago when I initially fitted the Nitro's I have learnt a lot, and Shocks are not just Shocks, There is a whole lot of Mystique involved, So I have written a pretty detailed description of My experiences in getting My Hagon 340 Nitro's set up and adjusted to suite My riding requirements. i wonder why they would supply std 35kg springs if they are generally too hard?
if you are using 20 or even 23kg springs they must bottom out when you hit a large pot hole?
im using 26kgs springs with 20mm sag and find them great. i was using 30kg put they were a little too stiff.

There is more happening here mate but it will take time. We have been talking to another suspension guru here in Brisbane who has another view on hagons. One of mine has lost it's gas charge and has a slight oil weep so I have to send them back to the UK for repairs which is a PIA but no one can get parts here from Hagon, I tried and the won't send them.

Experience is something you get just after you needed it

you shouldn't need to send them back to the uk, if your suspension guru was a good one he can rebuild them
himself.
you should have asked around or on here to see if someone could fix them, my suspension bloke does a lot with rebuild with so called good out of the factory shocks.
the way he showed me was that on a heavy cruiser or most bikes, if your shock is set with too soft a spring or too much static sag it will bottom out at some stage on a ride and that will hurt you and the shock over time.
better to have a firm spring with soft rebound and preload setting.

He can rebuild them and regas them but, he can't source seals for them, Hagon won't sell them and to regas he has to install valves as Hagon have a way of gassing the system without valves. He is quite aware of the shocks and has in the past rebuilt them but as said they no longer supply parts. I don't know if it's a fallout thing with the ex supplier in Victoria or not. I'm running 26kg springs which are firm enough.

Hagon will rebuild both of mine, replace whatever needs doing and give a 2 year warranty, of course if they don't appoint a new Aussie distributor then freight will always be expensive. The whole deal will cost less than $500, so no choice really.

Reading between the lines, I think the Nitros have been fitted with too harsh valving, therefore making owners compensate by using lighter springs. Mine have arrived back and apparently have been fitted with the "latest" valving so when I get them back together and fitted it will be interesting.
